I’m a queer content creator, TV host, reporter, emcee, mental health advocate, and therapist-in-training. Yes, that’s a long list - but it is representative of who I am. It all started when I was studying Broadcast Journalism at Emerson College in Boston, and got the opportunity to report at the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Whistler, BC. I started creating YouTube videos to chronicle my time at the Olympics, and both the Olympics and online video creation were addicting. After years of making YouTube videos, I ended up at KGW-TV, the NBC affiliate in Portland, Oregon. I started out as a traffic reporter, and eventually hosted my own 7pm evening talk show, Tonight With Cassidy. I was ready for a new challenge after eight years at the station. So in 2020, I left full-time TV for the freelance world. It was around this time that I had started sharing about my own mental health online, and I realized that there was a chance to make my work feel even more meaningful. Since then, I have traveled the world to report at more Olympic Games (7 in total), launched a mental health podcast, created video content for a variety of businesses, worked at other international sporting events, emceed fundraisers for amazing nonprofit organizations, and spent the rest of my time seeking a variety of mental health trainings. I am always looking for new opportunities to use my passion, energy and skills. I also love figuring out how to combine my life experience with grief, mental health, and breast cancer in new, creative ways.
